Design Unlimited was founded by Mark Tucker in March 2000. Mark started his career in yacht interior design in 1986 when he left University in Cardiff to join the drawing office at Camper & Nicholson’s (Yachts) in Gosport. Working at the yard gave Mark a valuable insight into construction methods and constraints and he gained experience by working on boats such as Royal Eagle, Cyrano and Victoria of Strathern.

After seven years with Campers Mark left to join Ken Freivokh Design where he later became Associate Partner, and was introduced to production work in the form of Sunseeker International. He also gained a huge amount of experience by managing the interior design of, amongst others, Atlantide, Leopard and Spada.

In 2000 Mark took the step of launching his own business, Design Unlimited, and quickly established a varied and impressive portfolio of projects as demonstrated in our website.

WHAT WE DO
At Design Unlimited we provide each of our clients with an extensive and very personal design service. We offer full interior design, decoration and layout services for custom or production motor or sailing yachts of any size. It is our philosophy to nurture the relationship with each of our clients in order to gain an insight into their wishes and so best reproduce their ideals for their particular yacht whatever size or style it may be.

The key to giving such a bespoke service lies in versatility. We are equally at home working on large Superyachts, doing the interior design for a custom tender or working with a production company. Each project benefits from the same expert knowledge, vision and attention to detail, which have allowed Design Unlimited to make our name as a well-respected studio.

We take great pride in the work we do, and we would not be human if we did not get pleasure from receiving credit from our clients for work well done.

HOW WE WORK
Each of our Clients will receive a complete interior design service including plans, sections and elevations to describe the design intentions in each area and three-dimensional computer rendered or hand drawn visuals will also be produced of key areas and items of furniture. We utilise programmes such as Autocad, Solidworks, Photoshop, Rhino and Lightwave to offer the most up to date presentation techniques and to integrate seamlessly with the information provided by build yard and naval architecture. We also have a complete understanding of systems and the technical aspect of interior design.

Apart from a design's technical aspects we have a full product and fabric library and can assist in all aspects of interior decoration, colour schemes and soft furnishings. Material details are provided to the interior outfitter for upholstery and soft furnishings, overheads, cabin sole and bulkhead linings, solid, veneered and lacquered surfaces, appliances, ironmongery, lights, fixtures and fittings.

The studio has an exceptional relationship with many top quality suppliers and fabric houses and samples and presentation boards for each area of the yacht will be produced for the client to review. We can also work with each client to source specific items of freestanding furniture and art to complement the yacht’s interior and offer a purchasing service for each project if required.
